about.
The NSP world map project started as a way to visually explain the company’s global distribution network. NSP is an automotive parts brand with manufacturing and export routes that span across Asia and Latin America, but they lacked a clear visual story that showed the scale of their operation. I approached the project by creating a stylized 3D world map that highlighted their most important export routes, from production points to delivery hubs. The goal was to make the information easy to understand while giving the brand a modern, high quality visual identity.
challenge.
The biggest challenge in this project was not the idea itself but finding the right way to visualize it. I started with the idea of a simple 3D globe highlighting Japan and the Americas, but it felt too flat for what NSP needed. After experimenting, I shifted toward using historical map imagery, which had far more depth and character. These maps were filled with roads, names, coordinates, and tiny details that added richness to the scene. To translate that complexity into 3D, I gathered elevation data from different sources, generated accurate depth maps, merged everything through mapping software, and then brought the result into Blender. Using displacement nodes, I recreated the terrain with precision and refined the colors and line work until the map finally carried the weight and realism the concept deserved.
results.
The project came out great, and both the client and I were genuinely happy with the final result. One detail that elevated the piece even further was the sound design. It wasn’t something the client requested, but I knew the animation would feel more complete with audio, so I added them at the end of the project to enhance the overall experience.
